During the week of March 19th Amber (Johnson) Downeys life was taken on a traumatic medical roller coaster which has now left her husband Alan, her children Tyler and Ayden, and her entire family tragically stricken in grief due to her death. Amber suffered an asthma attack and due to medical complications, she was airlifted to University Vermont Medical Center in Burlington where she was placed on a respirator. Her entire family also made the trip that day, along with the next few days; back and forth to Burlington to be by her side hoping the medical efforts would prevail and praying for a miracle. Sadly, Amber passed away on Saturday March 24, 2018.

Amber was the example of unselfish. She was constantly giving and putting everyones needs before those of her own: friends, co-workers, family, and even strangers but especially to her children, Tyler, Corey and Ayden.

She endured the most tragic loss when she lost her son, Corey Jock on April 10, 2009 to brain cancer. Parents arent supposed to bury their children, but Amber did, and she continued to live and love although part of her had died. She prevailed.

Ambers compassion for people and life was also shown through her selfless gift of donating one of her kidneys to her nephew Eric that ultimately saved his life.

Her life will continue to live on because Ambers wishes were to be an organ donor and shortly after her passing those wishes were carried out.

Alan is devastated. He will continue to work, care for his children, and try to continue this life without his beautiful wife. He and Ambers family are seeking donations to help cover expenses incurred for her funeral, the airlift transport, and any extra medical expenses that may arise.
