We regretfully announce the passing of Sharon Diane Kennedy of Morgantown, West Virginia, on Saturday, May 1, 2021. She was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully at her home.

Sharon was born on September 6, 1947, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Thomas Willis and Wanda Lucille (Murray) Dailey.

Our nanny Sharon was one of the strongest, most courageous, kindest, and bullheaded woman to ever walk this Earth and we were all blessed to have her as the head of our family.
In 1962, she met Darrell Fay Kennedy and they married shortly after that. They went on to have three sons: Bruce William Kennedy Sr., Darrell Lee Kennedy, Kevin Allen Kennedy; and one adopted daughter, Samantha Anne Kennedy, all of Morgantown.

Sharon was a wonderfully loving person who gave her all to her family and everyone she knew. She loved spending time with her grand and great grandkids. One of her best friends was her great grandson, Kyree whose life she saved as an infant which gave them a very strong bond.
Along with her children, she is survived by two sisters, one brother, six grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, all of Morgantown along with tons of friends.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Fay Kennedy.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 2 – 5 p.m. In accordance with her wishes, Hastings Funeral Home is entrusted with cremation arrangements. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all guests must wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to www.givingcompassion.care
