Vernon C. Doyle, of Springfield, formerly of Joliet, IL, passed away on December 14, 2022 at HSHS St. John's Hospital from a battle with Stage IV colon cancer.  He leaves behind his step-son, Christopher W. Gant, whom he loved dearly. Vernon was a devoted team member of Southern IL Transportation, where assisted in many non-emergency medical transports to those in need. He was also proud to of been sober for the past three years and became a role model for Christopher, even with his illness. 

With the freedom he gained through sobriety, Vernon gave back to this community by donating his time to the local Salvation Army. Any excess proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army in his memory. Thank you for any help you can provide.
