In December 2017, longtime Federated employee, Linda Tannahill, was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and took a leave of absence from her position to fight the disease. Over the next 10 months, she underwent several surgeries, blood transfusions, radiation & chemotherapy. In October 2018, her treatments concluded and her doctors declared her to be cancer free. The treatments had been tough, follow-up surgeries and recovery time would be necessary. In the Spring of this year, while undergoing one of these follow-up surgeries, doctors made the devastating discovery of another cancerous tumor. Linda is again undergoing chemotherapy in her fight against the disease.
The financial aspects of Linda's fight against cancer have been significant. Her health has prevented her from returning to her position at Federated and the difficult decision for her to step down has been made. Many of Linda's coworkers, clients and friends have asked for a way to help. By donating here, we can help lift the financial burden and allow Linda to concentrate her efforts on fighting this horrible disease. We are in your corner, Linda! Beat Cancer!
**UPDATE**
We are overwhelmed with the generosity of the coworkers, clients and friends of Linda. The original goal of $5,000 was achieved in one short week!
We have learned some additional information about the daunting expenses facing Linda and would like to share just a couple of the many. She takes 2 chemotherapy pills per day that cost $350 each and beginning July 1 the cost of her health insurance for 1 year will be $6,000.
To further assist we have increased the campaign goal from $5,000 to $7,000. There are still 10 days remaining to join Linda's fight. We've achieved one goal, let's hit the next one!
